We use xtrabackup to create and prepare backups on an NFS mount. We have about 20 database instances and create weekly full backups. Every week 1-2 backups are failing due to some NFS related problem (“The redo log file ./#innodb_redo/#ib_redo0 size … is not a multiple of innodb_page_size”). A working solution could be if the
#innodb_redo
resource could be used from a local (not mounted) folder.The problem/bug is that it seems that xtrabackup doesn’t pick up the related configuration parameter. Tried three ways:
through command line parameter to
xtrabackup
command (--innodb-log-group-home-dir
)through .cnf file:
[xtrabackup]
block,innodb_log_group_home_dir
parameter[mysqld]
block,innodb_log_group_home_dir
