Unable to tell which exact version an image provides

Description

While we state the list of operator-certified images in , we do not say what is the exact version provided by them. For example:

  • percona/percona-postgresql-operator:2.3.1-ppg16-postgres provides PostgreSQL 16.1

  • percona/percona-postgresql-operator:2.3.1-ppg16-pgbackrest provides pgBackRest 2.48

As it is, the only way to get this info is by deploying the images

For PSMDB and PXC, we use official images. E.g. for backup images for PXC we used without a minor version. Starting from 1.13.0, we added a minor version as well. For PG minor version was not added because we did not have different vers for one operator release. But I agree with that we need to improve the tag.
