If operator is deployed with permissions in a singular namespace, there’s no way to use a cluster in another namespace as data source. We don’t want to change this behavior because it’ll basically undermine security of namespace-scoped deployments. If one wants to use a cluster in another namespace as data source, the operator should at least watch both namespaces. This needs to documented. I’m closing this ticket in favor of
