PSMDB Sharded Cluster is Failing to reinitilaized after scaled to 0 Nodes

Description

After Setting up a sharded cluster

  • 2 mongos

  • 3 config

  • 2 replicas of 3 nodes each(v4.4.25)

  • Operator v1.15(also over v14.2)

    The cluster is active and working well
    After scaling down to zero pods

And re scaling back, it seems that the Mongos fail to return to stable and are failing to initialize

Adding to Yossi’s report, when tested Toggling spec.pause:

the RS fail to startup (rs0-0 & rs1-0):

 

also the mongos crash with:
