Error After Upgrading to v1.10.0 When Configured Without A Proxy Enabled

Description

After updating from 1.9.0 to 1.10.0 the operator is spamming the log with this error:

We aren't using a proxy because we had a lot of issues getting it to work properly and decided to handle it from our app instead. Here is a copy of the config:
