PMM-Agent 2.31.0 high CPU and Memory Usage

Hi Team,

I am using PMM-Server 2.31.0 in two different environments but I am using pmm-agent 2.30.0 luckily in one server and pmm-agent 2.31.0 on another server.

My First server A configuration is 2 CPU and 16 GB Memory, where my PMM-Server is also hosted on same instance

Other pmm-agent instance B is having 4 CPU and 8 GB RAM and PMM-server is running on different host.

Instance A is running fine without blocking much resources and having enough bandwidth for more instances.
Instance B is having more CPU and even if I add one Instance for monitoring It's utilising 100% cpu and taking away all RAM.  More CPU is going in iowait.

 

I am sharing resource utilisation from both the servers.

Server A Utilisation -

Both the servers A and B are monitoring 4 RDS Instances.

Please help identifying the issue.

Thank for the report.
I've tried reproducing the issue with following test case but i don't see any unexpected behaviour, please find the scenario below:

Scenario 1: When PMM Server 2.31 & pmm-agent 2.30

Scenario 2: When PMM Server 2.31 & pmm-agent 2.31

For further debug the issue, please share following Information:

  • Please share PMM Server & Agent logs for 2nd scenario.

  • How much load being executed from MySQL end.

  • Is this issue is being observed continuously?

  • issue is repeatable?

To upload log files please use Percona SFTP server.

Server: `sftp.percona.com`
• Port: `2222`  
• Protocol: `sftp`
• Username:
• Password:
• Upload via command line: `scp -P2222 ./.tar.gz PMM-10917@ftp.percona.com:.tar.gz`
• NOTES: BLIND UPLOAD ONLY service, directory listing disabled, directory mirroring disabled.
  ADVICE: upload a tar file or similar with everything included there
