It's not possible to connect to AMI with ssh-key added via Settings page

Description

  1. Start AMI or OVA.

  2. Go to Settings page and add ssh key

  3. Try to connect to the instance with this ssh-key and admin user

Actual result: Permission denied error is returned

Expected result: successfully connected

 

Problem

  • deal with potential file permissions change related to Podman

    • potentially related to SELinux permissive mode change

Possible options

  1. use AWS native ssh infra (Doc - explain to users)

  2. sidecar process getting info from process container to update file

How to test

  1. Start AMI using ami-068d3d696e4b58f3b

  2. Go to Settings page and add ssh key

  3. Try to connect to the instance with this ssh-key and admin user

Actual result: Permission denied error is returned

Expected result: successfully connected
