It would be better if the changelog or documentation points to the options which were dropped and/or replacements for them, otherwise this can create confusion when people transition to newer versions.
So, in the documentation linking to selected parts of blueprint would also do.

This is a running issue, so I'll close the bug. We'll continue to be more specific in the changelog about what has changed.

Agreed. Although one expects significant changes between major versions of a tool, it's really helpful to see a list of those changes, else the user will have to compare and contrast which is tedious, especially when we keep an option but repurpose it (which we've done to several options).

To cite a specific example, sleep-coef was dropped in 2.0.3, however there is no mention of it in Changelog, I had to dig through the bzr log and still couldn't get it, the blueprint here helped – https://blueprints.launchpad.net/percona-toolkit/+spec/redesign-pt-table-checkum
