LP #991819: innobackupex crashes with many tables

We have an installation of WordPress (WP), and WP creates a LOT of tables. Currently 19000+ tables in our clients installation.

Everything is converted to InnoDB, and using innobackupex, the following error occurs:

innobackupex: Error: Failed to execute "scp -Cp -c arcfour /var/lib/mysql/the_db/'wp_888_posts.frm' [... cut ...]": Argument list too long at /usr/bin/innobackupex line 349.
"

The --remote-host option was deprecated in XtraBackup 1.6.6 and we are going to remove it in 2.1. The recommended way to do remote backups is the streaming backups feature that doesn't have this problem.
