There are these historical scripts in percona-qa

build_5.x_debug_5.6_for_pxb_tests.sh 
build_5.x_debug_5.7_for_pxb_tests.sh 

Which are unnecessary code duplication. There is a better way to do this using temporary copies, the method of which is described here;

Would you please eliminate the need for these scripts (by using the temporary copy/modify method described from within the script which calls these build commands)?

If the scripts are meant to be used manually, then we can discuss further - perhaps we can have some option, or leave the scripts but still use the temporary copy/modify method inside them instead of code duplication etc.

While at it, would you also have a look if we can do something similar for this script;

build_5.x_debug_for_audit_plugin.sh
