Add ARM support

Description

ARM platform becomes even more popular nowadays. AWS provides ARM-based EC2 instance types for a long time already, MacOS M1 etc. Moreover, MySQL itself included ARM build fixes into the version 8.0.23.

Please compile XB package to support aarch64.

A ton of thanks in advance!

P.S. Tried myself but stuck with libevent.

I may be off-base, but it looks to me like 8.4 amd64/arm64 support is already out there in the debian repositories, but it’s not found due to a naming bug, see https://perconadev.atlassian.net/issues/PXB-3361

Thanks that’s huge progress! Looking forward to 8.0 and to the debian repositories. I’ve downloaded 8.4 to start working on implementation. Wish me well

Hi Randy.

It is available for ARM for Debian for Percona XtraBackup 8.4:

And we will be re-releasing 8.0.35 with for Debian ARM shortly. I am sorry for keeping you waiting.

ARM64 for PXB is still not available either for download or in Debian repositories. Sorry to be repetitive. Looking forward to ARM64 for both PXB 8.0 and 8.4. In June, this was stated as “available in several weeks”. Thanks for the work on this!
