We will remove the version check from PXB 8.4 series. The version check is a perl script and adds un-necessary dependency on the perl DBD library.
On package installation, this can cause un-necessary dependencies to install the perl DBD MySQL library.

The aim of the script to inform the user that the Server version used is not the latest. IMHO, it is pretty useless, it doesn’t tell the version to be upgraded. Also when the user uses the latest version of Server, it doesn’t inform that user is already using the latest version of Server.
