In which version does xtrabackup start to support PUNCH HOLE of mysql5.7?

Not a Bug

Description

Masters, may anyone tell me
From which version does xtrabackup support mysql5.7 page compression(Hole Punch)

  • I checked a lot of xtrabackup release notes and percona official documents, but didn't find any description of page compression support

  • I also checked a lot of bugs, but didn't find any clear description of whether xtrabackup supports page compression

    https://jira.mariadb.org/browse/MDEV-13023

  • I used version 2.4.29 to do local backup tests and remote backup tests. The test results showed that Hole Punch is not supported. Is there something wrong with my test or does xtrabackup itself not support it?

Could tell me clearly whether xtrabackup 2.4.x supports page compression of mysql 5.7? (Hole Punch)

Looking forward to your reply
Thank you very much

Hi

Thank you for the report.
It is a known limitation for 2.4.X, which is mentioned here at

Added support here at

Please note that 2.4 is EOL, so we recommend using 8.0. If you still need EOL support, please contact us here.
