The hot backup library continuously dumps TRACE information out to stdout with no way to conditionally enable/disable it.  A dynamic option should be added to the API to allow runtime disabling of these traces.  This can't completely eliminate the traces as due to the LD_PRELOAD nature of the library into the process space, trace output will begin immediately and continue until the backup plugin is initialized and optionally disables the traces.
