We originally fixed Alter Table issues and created a blog post about it. The fix is available in PS 8.0.40.
When upstream tried to fix the same issue(s) in a different way. Given that their fix was conflicting with ours, we decided to keep theirs. We also tested their changes with the existing repro steps. PS 8.0.41 was released with upstream’s fix. However, we received feedback from our customers that upstream’s fix is not fixing the issue fully.
In 8.0.42 merge we shall have the proper fixes in place.
